Business

The Business team is the backbone of the Baja racing team, managing all financial and logistical operations. They handle budgeting, sponsorship acquisition, marketing strategies, and fundraising, ensuring the team has the resources to operate efficiently. This group works closely with external stakeholders, creating partnerships that support the team's goals while maintaining financial transparency and sustainability.

Electrical

The Electrical team focuses on the vehicle's electrical systems, ensuring all components function properly, from the battery to the sensors and wiring. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting electrical circuits and controls, such as telemetry systems and engine management electronics. Their expertise keeps the vehicle's power distribution systems and data communication seamless throughout the race.

Powertrain

The Powertrain team is dedicated to the heart of the Baja vehicle—the engine and drivetrain system. This team focuses on the optimization of power delivery, from the engine design to fuel systems and transmission. They work on making the engine efficient, reliable, and robust, allowing the vehicle to perform at its peak in the challenging terrain of Baja racing while ensuring proper maintenance and tuning.

Chassis

The Chassis team designs, builds, and refines the structure of the Baja vehicle, ensuring safety, strength, and rigidity. They work with materials such as steel and aluminum to create a lightweight yet durable frame that supports all the other systems. This team is crucial for maintaining the overall integrity of the vehicle, protecting both the driver and the components from impact or stress during races.

Vehicle Dynamics

The Vehicle Dynamics team focuses on optimizing how the vehicle handles and performs on various terrains. They deal with suspension systems, shock absorbers, geometry adjustments, and overall ride dynamics, ensuring the vehicle's stability, maneuverability, and comfort. By analyzing forces such as weight transfer, traction, and the relationship between the tires and the terrain, they enhance performance and driver control.

Human Factors

The Human Factors team analyzes the interaction between the vehicle and the driver, focusing on ergonomics, driver comfort, and safety. This team designs the seating, controls, and visibility to ensure optimal driver performance during the grueling race. They study and implement features that improve communication with the vehicle and reduce fatigue, ensuring the driver can focus on the task ahead with maximum efficiency and safety.

Welding & Operations

The Welding team is crucial to the Baja vehicle's construction and durability. They perform all the welding work required for building the chassis, mounting components, and reinforcing the frame. They use various welding techniques like TIG, MIG, and stick welding to ensure the vehicle's structural integrity under intense racing conditions. This team's attention to detail is essential to prevent any failures or weaknesses in critical structural parts during the race.
