THE SAE BAJA CHALLENGE

Each year, our team faces the ultimate test of student engineering. SAE Baja competitions bring together over 100 universities from around the globe to evaluate 100% student-designed and built vehicles. From cost analysis and design judging to brutal 4-hour endurance races on rugged terrain, the series is a true measure of engineering skill, teamwork, and resilience.

Our History

Founded in 1983, Toronto Met Baja Racing (formerly Ryerson Baja) is the oldest student design team at Toronto Metropolitan University. What began as a small group of engineering enthusiasts has grown into a powerhouse of over 75 active members spanning engineering, business, and design. For over four decades, our team has pushed the boundaries of durability and performance, competing across North America and building a legacy of hands-on innovation and leadership development.
